"Something Left Behind" is a music documentary that tells the story of UK indie heroes The Wedding Present's much-heralded 1987 debut album, "George Best". Directed by Andrew Jezard, this documentary explores the 30 year lifespan of a record that has come to define youth in the minds of so many, and tells the story of a band who would later go on to have 18 Top 40 singles and who still perform today.
Featuring live and archival footage from around Europe, along with interviews with all of the original band members alongside other contributors, fans and radio DJs, this movie will mean something to everyone who's ever experienced the thrill of listening to music. It was partly Kickstarter-funded, with thousands of fans of the band clubbing together from all corners of the world, making sure the movie could be exactly what the director wanted.
On March 24th, we're hosting a very special one-off screening in Toronto, where you get the chance to be among the first people in the world to see "Something Left Behind". The Wedding Present's founding member David Gedge will take part in a Q&A alongside Andrew Jezard, telling even more stories from his 30+ year career in the music industry. Later that evening, The Wedding Present will play at the legendary Horseshoe Tavern, as part of their last North American tour for many years to come.
In 2018, The Wedding Present are playing concerts in the UK, Europe, North America, Thailand and Japan. You can see their schedule and order music and merchandise at www.scopitones.co.uk.
